OUR MISSION
About Us
To feed crested geckos the way nature intended: diets built on what wild geckos actually eat, refined by what we learn from keeping and breeding them ourselves.
Our story
Blue River Diets is made by the team at Peregrine Livefoods. We’ve been feeding reptiles since 1986, and it all started with insects. Lots of insects.
Today Peregrine is the largest dedicated reptile wholesaler and supplier across Europe. We breed millions of insects every year and supply over 3,000 products to hundreds of shops every week, with a team of more than 170 people.
We also breed thousands of crested geckos every year, right here at our headquarters. Feed that many geckos and you learn two things fast: they’re very honest food critics, and very few diets were built around what they actually eat.
So in 2023, we made them something better. Blue River Diets is made for crested geckos and other fruit-eating reptiles. And the name? It comes from Blue River Provincial Park in New Caledonia, where crested geckos were rediscovered in 1994 after being thought extinct.

What we’re built on
Gecko HQ
We breed thousands of crested geckos every year at our headquarters. Watching them eat, grow and thrive every day tells us what works, and what we learn goes straight back into our recipes.
We went to New Caledonia (for science)
With Exotics Keeper, we’ve followed wild crested geckos through New Caledonia’s wet and dry seasons to see how they live and what’s on their menu. Then we brought it all home.
What’s in the bag?
Real fruit first, bee pollen and honey, and postbiotics, in a diet lower in fat. And we never stop tweaking as we learn more.
